Over two years ago I began what I thought would be a ten week project, an EP with floral sounds and joy pop; I kept working on that project through my graduation, a breakup, a pandemic, two moves, through anxiety, stress, panic, and protest. Finally, it’s ready to be released.

What took so long? I re-recorded every song’s vocals at least three times, to start. I also took long long pauses from mixing and producing to help with protest organizing, to hike, to sink deeper into a depressive hole, to try to heal different parts of me that, turns out, were healed immensely more by coming back to this record.

I could probably work on this for another year or two chasing total sonic perfection, but it’s time to let it go; I’ve given a lot to this project, and now it’s time to give it to you. So here it is, the summer heartbreak EP.
